Department of Social Work
“The happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others.”
― Gordon B. Hinckley
The Department of Social work is one of the vibrant departments in Christ college. We offer Master’s Degree in Social work (MSW) with a specialization Medical and Psychiatry.
The Department of Social Work places a premium on student achievement and skill development. Thereby they outperform in all sectors like the corporate sector, government, and non-government. Students learn in an environment that encourages critical thinking, curiosity, and scientific temper. Values such as selflessness, devotion and service are blended with social work skills and social sensitivity that transform them into successful professionals of tomorrow. They learn to respond to the ever-changing lives and needs of others, motivated by the power of overcoming adversity.
The department initiates programmes that cater to the professional and personal development of students in the supervision of dedicated faculty members. It organises seminars, workshops, training programs, social work related day observations, rural exposure camps and field work as part of its curriculum. Academic programmes place a strong emphasis on the importance of learning through service. The Department's curriculum provides opportunities for students to develop holistically by combining classroom learning with hands-on experience.
